This interdisciplinary research workshop aims at exploring the concept of mediation in social and artistic creation. From ancient pantomime and horror shows, to royal displays of power, to the role of emotions in group understanding and legal decision-making, the workshop is driven by two general lines of enquiry:
We invite students and researchers at all career stages and from across the disciplines to join us in Edinburgh for dialogue on the role and possibilities of mediation. Registration is free and includes tea, lunch, and a wine reception. This event is generously sponsored by the Royal Society of Edinburgh and the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities.
